Eating a diverse mix of foods helps improve gut health, immune function, and nutrient absorption, while reducing the risk of nutrient deficiencies. Food variety not only improves health but can give you a wider range of items to enjoy. In this class we’ll discuss the benefits of variety and also review some ideas/strategies to “make variety the spice of your life!”

The ADCES7 Self-Care Behaviors are seven essential actions that help people manage diabetes and improve overall health. They include healthy eating, being active, monitoring blood glucose, taking medications, problem solving, healthy coping, and reducing risks. In this interactive class we will dive deeper into the often-overlooked aspects of self-management including healthy coping, problem solving, and risk reduction. Although these self-care practices have been developed to decrease risk for individuals with blood sugar control issues, attention to these skills can help anyone with chronic disease who want to move from “chronic disease management” to “working wellness!”
